The Presentation of Bill Sikes in Oliver Twist Essay -- English Litera

Analyse the presentation of shoot down Sikes in the novel Oliver Twist. You should refer to aspects such as the authors viewpoint, linguistic communicationand the social and historical contest.I am going to write a detailed and accurate piece of writing in theform of an experiment to answer the statement above. I will do this by use quotes from the book, my own theories on what the author istrying to portray Bill Sikes as and also my own knowledge of theVictorian era. I will be looking at specific areas, which I feel will serve well me write a more concluding and correct account of the compositionOliver Twist.I will focus on areas such as Bill Sikes behaviour towards others, how voices round Sikes react when he is there and how backgrounds andphrases reflect the character of Sikes. The author of this novel, Charles the Tempter has written throughout in 3rdperson, I believe he has through with(p) this to show Sikes as the character hereally is, a mean thoughtless and thuggish p erson in society, thismakes the subscriber believe that he was actually there witnessing thelife and times of Sikes. It is then written in an omniscient kindof means, as you feel as though Charles Dickens was watching over Sikesas if God like. I have interpreted to be quite a good way in writingthe story because Sikes is anything but an angel, as he goes aroundstealing and bullying people into doing things for him, like his dirtywork. This gives a secern effect on the story. It is written in 3rd person to pee-pee a judging description on theother characters. This has made characters such as Oliver and Nancyseem good people and then characters like Fagin, corn dodger and Sikes seembad ones. By adding such things as prostitution, thieving(pick-pocket... ... murderer. Dickens may have also written about Sikesaccidentally suspension himself because if the hundreds of people whohad gathered and were know after him, caught up with him, then hewould of got hung by them in the town a nyway. Why the chase is on to ingest Sikes, hundreds of people hear of what hehas done and want to see him viciously killed because they believe thatit would be justice. Each little bridge (and there were triplet in sight) bent beneath theweight of the crown upon it. Still the certain poured on to find somenook or hole from which to express their shouts, and only for an instantsee the wretch. This shows how much Sikes was hated in his last few moments alive.I also believe that justice was done when Sikes died, he was a bully,a woman beater, a murderer, a abductor and both physically andverbally cruel to everyone he met.
